If you really want to see what a library means to a small village and what you are doing for Nepal, come travel with READ Global staff to see some special villages – Tukche and Jomsom in the Annapurnas in the shadow of Dhaulagiri, Syangia near Pokhara, and Jhuwani in the Terai in Royal Chitwan National Park. This is not a trekking trip, and anyone can go! You will be feted by the children and adults of the villages, shown all around, fed delicious food, and treated like royalty! In the mountains, you can ride a Tibetan pony to Tukche and in Chitwan, you can enjoy tracking wildlife on an elephant.

During your time in Kathmandu, you can spend time with the READ board – a fascinating cross-section of Nepali intellectuals and artists - and meet with the READ staff. You can also visit the beautiful temples and monasteries of the valley, shop for jewelry, rugs, or whatever you wish, and get a true sense of the hospitality and warmth of the Nepali people.
