Prakash has been working as Enterprise Development Officer (EDO) for READ Nepal since May 2014. As EDO, he is responsible for carrying out all activities on promoting business and enterprise in READ Nepal programs. He identifies and implements sustaining enterprise programs that will financially sustain community libraries as envisioned by the READ Model and promote micro entrepreneurs in community, develops and implements business and project plans, and provides the necessary leadership, project management, and co-ordination for the successful launch of enterprises. He also assists exploration and implementation of country level social enterprise for the sustainability of READ mission in Nepal. Prior to joining READ, Prakash worked with the Mahila Jagaran Sangh (MJS), Ilam for over 6 years as a Program Director Cum Team Leader with one of his major responsibilities of enterprise development, worked as a consultant (Enterprise Development and Micro Finance Expert) at Netherlands Development Organization, Nepal (SNV-Nepal), World Wildlife Fund (WWF) Nepal under K-CAP Project, and Swiss Agency for Development Cooperation (SDC) under Nepal Swiss Community Forestry Project. He has also worked as a Cooperative Management and Training Expert at CHEMONICS INTERNATIONAL, USAID-Nepal, as a Cooperative-Management and Business Plan Expert at SNV, Agritera Netherland, Central Tea Cooperative Federation and Tea Sector Development, and also worked in various positions at various other organizations. Prakash holds a Master’s Degree in Business Studies (MBS) from the Tribhuwan University of Nepal specialized on Financial Management and Investment and has attended and participated various national and international relevant trainings and workshops.
