Geeta has been working with READ India since June 2008 and has helped bring 16 READ Centers (Community Library and Resource Centers) to life in 8 states of this expansive country. Geeta constantly performs networking for partnerships and fund raising apart from outreach activities to bring the best training and capacity-building programs to READ Centers while overseeing all operations in India. Geeta uses her strong experience, professional and academic connections to create new opportunities for READ India. Since 1981, she has been actively working in the social sector to implement grassroots programs across India. This includes work for One World South Asia, Open Knowledge Network, Digital Empowerment Foundation and Population Foundation of India. Geeta holds multiple degrees from Delhi University, Annamalai University and IIPS, Mumbai Deemed University. She has submitted her thesis on Elected Women’s Roles in Reproductive and Child Health.
