Ms. Sanjana Shrestha
CEO, READ Nepal
Sanjana has been with READ Nepal for twelve years and has served as Country Director since January 2009 through February 2018. Under Sanjana’s leadership, READ has been the driving force behind the strengthening of the Nepal Community Library Association (NCLA), which helps READ Centers advocate and lobby for rights. Sanjana’s expertise and facilitation skills have been critical in expanding the READ model to India and Bhutan. Sanjana now serves as READ Global’s Senior Program Specialist providing strategic program design guidance to READ’s overall replication and scaling efforts. She holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in humanities and social science from Tribhuvan University in Kathmandu.
Mr. Chin Kaji Shrestha
Field Operations Head
Chin Kaji has been working as Program Officer since January 1, 2015. He served as the Field Officer from January 2009 until the end of December 2014, as Field Coordinator from 2004 to 2008, as an Assistant Field Coordinator from 2002 to 2004 and as volunteer for more than four years since 1998. Since then, he has been working with rural communities advocating the READ model and finding suitable community for constructing READ libraries. He is responsible for mobilizing communities; provide support to the Library Management Committees (LMC) throughout the entire lifecycle of program implementation and setting up of READ center. He is also responsible for training the local communities on Library Science Management, facilitate on resolving if conflict arise at community level, carrying out READ programs at field level and support on hosting donors during READ Nepal visit.
Mr. Durgesh Kumar Yogi
Durgesh has been working as Monitoring & Evaluation and Capacity Building Manager since January 1, 2015. He joined READ Nepal in July of 2012 and serve for two and half years as Monitoring and Evaluation Officer. He is accountable to assist Program operations to ensure effective and quality service delivery and lead capacity building components in the projects and programmes. He is also responsible to ensure organizational compliance, take lead in synthesizing knowledge and impact from the projects and programmes developing and manage relationships with external stakeholders in support of READ Nepal’s mission. Prior to joining READ, Durgesh worked with Partnership for Sustainable Development Nepal, UNICEF Nepal, and the District AIDS Committee of Dang. Durgesh holds a master’s degree in public health from State University of Bangladesh and a bachelors in commerce from Tribhuvan University in Nepal.
Ms. Pushpa Bhadel
Pushpa has been with READ Nepal since 2008 and was promoted to the position of Executive Director of READ Nepal in early 2018. Prior to her promotion, Pushpa served as the Administrative Head since January 1, 2015. Pushpa has written extensively on international development and made presentations at numerous conferences on a variety of topics concerning rural and international development and gender studies. She holds a bachelor’s degree in business from Tribhuwan University and a master’s in rural development and gender studies from Purbanchal University in Nepal.
